Elgin in the Woods ~ Thornbury Family Photographer

So after hearing about this family for quite some time, I finally got to spend the morning with them. Free Spirit Tours  co-founder, Kimberley, and her hubby Dillan have created a beautiful little home in Thornbury, Ontario where they welcomed their son Elgin six months ago. Their charming home has been spruced up with modern renos and an eye for detail, while their backyard boasts a huge veggie garden, green house, ancient apple trees and ever expanding perennial beds. On a sunny morning in May, I arrived in time to catch Elgin waking up as we packed the car for a drive out to the local forest. To be honest, I hadn’t yet ventured into these woods yet and was thrilled to be wandering through this magical forest with swaths of ferns, winding paths and forest floor overgrown with trilliums. We picked ramps as we walked and admired the horsetail pushing through the undergrowth.
