I met Leslie LaCome when she first moved to the Beaver Valley and I smiled… another creative in our little piece of paradise. She had just moved back to Ontario after many years in Miami where she made jewellery and taught classes from her studio. From Miami to our little valley? Seriously though, she settled right in and quickly found her place in our loving community.
Recently, she bought up an old farm house off the main drag in Clarksbug and began renovating the two car attached garage into the most welcoming and cozy studio space I’ve seen in a long time. Big windows, white walls, textiles from her many travels, antique furniture, stacks of books and lush plants filling the space and giving it all the good vibes.
Leslie is working on some website updates and wanted some fresh branding images and creative business portraits for her social media; so I met up with her one morning and we chatted over tea about what she does, her process and her long term goals. We worked together on building a variety of images that spoke to her needs and wishes, and I got play with some creative portraits.
Leslie also offers ongoing workshops for those of you interested in dabbling! I myself am thinking of taking a few to make my own wedding ring as we never exchanged rings and 10yrs in I’m suddenly wanting one. Lol.
