Babies & Permaculture ~ Maternity Session in the Valley
April 22, 2016 , All
Just down the road from my home lies a beautiful little red house surrounded by wild looking gardens, fruit trees, flowers, and a large hoop house. This might be one of my favourite places in the valley… Fiddlehead Nursery, where edible perennials fill garden beds, creep into fields and line the driveway. From rare berry bushes to edible flowers, sorrel, sumac and a variety of others, I want to smell and taste everything. My own garden boasts some lovely additions from Ben’s collection and I’m looking forward to picking more at his next permaculture workshop!
Ok, enough about plants.
Ben and his partner Kelly are expecting their first child in a few weeks… I’m so excited for them, but I’m also really excited to have another mom in our tiny village! I’ve walked our kids the 3km to their home before but I have a feeling we’ll be doing that a lot more this year to pop in for coffee and baby hold. Ben and Kelly are some of the sweetest folks I know and I was thrilled to take some maternity photos for them as their due date is fast approaching. Of course they were full of giggles being in front of the camera and the morning was off and on rain, so dashed out between showers and low and behold the sun came out. I left their home with a smile on my face and basket of freshly baked muffins. Gotta love it.
